Guide To Black Friday Shopping: Clothing Addition

November 24, 2017 Leave a Comment

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and stuffed themselves with a bunch of great food I know I did. Now that Thanksgiving is over the Christmas season is just beginning. Black Friday is tomorrow and if you’re one of those people ready to get out and take on the madness these are some stores you should stop by. If you’ve never been black Friday shopping and you’re thinking to yourself, what the heck I’ll go this one time then these are some stores that I think are great stores to shop at. Last year was my first year to go black Friday shopping and It wasn’t intimidated at all!

Store #1: Francesca’s Boutique

Okay so if you are a regular reader of my blog then you already know that I am absolutely obsessed with Francesca’s because they literally have everything you’ll ever need fashion wise and their clothes are the cutest! I went black Friday shopping here last year and it was great because they really lower their prices! I remember I got a pair of jeans that was usually $40 for $14, now I think that’s a pretty good deal! They also have great gifts such as mugs, and hair accessories, and cute little trinkets great for stocking stuffers. They will have 60% off everything in the store as well!

Store #2: Altar’d State

Altar’d State is a store that I love but I find that their prices are always so high. Luckily their black Friday deals are buy one get one free on Christmas decor, fashion tops, cold weather gear, and all sale items. Also, Altar’d State usually has a whole room devoted to sale items which is where you would find me one any day, not black Friday, but I am definitely going to check it out tomorrow and actually shop around the entire store.

Store #3: Urban Outfitters

I don’t usually shop here but I know it’s a store that teens love. Tomorrow they will have buy one get one 50% on everything. Urban Outfitters always has the cuttest rompers and sweaters that always look so cozy! Urban also has some awesome gifts like pillows and books and cups great for white elephant or secret Santa!

Store #4: Gap

Gap is a store that never disappoints me. I absolutely love their workout apparel because it is just as cute as Lulu Lemon or other high-end athletic apparel brands. Tomorrow they will have 50% off of everything so make sure to go and check it out!

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving spent with family and food! Caio!

10 Must-Have Items on your Christmas List this year.

November 14, 2017 Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving is 10 days away and then the festivities of Christmas begin. If you’re anything like me and my mom you like to get your shopping done for family and friends as early as possible so that you can enjoy the season. When it comes to figuring out what I want for Christmas I always struggle because I usually buy stuff I need throughout the year and by the time Christmas rolls around I have no idea what to ask for. I also always have that one friend that when I ask them what they want for Christmas they say nothing and give zero ideas. Luckily I have put together a list of 10 items that are hot right now for all of you struggling to come up with ideas

1.Statement Earrings

For all of you fashionistas out there statement earrings are super in right now. The ones that I see all the time on ladies are the kinds that have layers like a big ball a medium sized ball and a small ball or the kinds that are just string and they are layered like the balls too. They are also usually ombre colors so it can work with many different outfits. I love these earrings because they are so fun and if you usually only wear one pair of earrings its just fun to mix it up with a funky kind of earring now and then!iipsrv.fcgi (Francesca’s: Tegan Bauble Earrings in Hematite $20.00)

2. Slip-on Sneakers

Slip-on sneakers are one of my necessities in my life right now. I wear slip-on sneakers with everything because they are so comfortable and personally I think they look a lot better with jeans or leggings and a cute shirt than tennis shoes. I like these also as a gift because depending on where you get them it won’t break your budget!

3. A Mug and a Good Book

This is a great gift if you have an annual White elephant party with friends or secret Santa.  During the year I usually don’t have a ton of time to sit down and get into a really good book so during the Christmas. One book that has really caught my eye is called The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas this book is about a girl named Starr who is 16 years old and she witnesses her childhood best friend get shot by a cop and she is the only one who knows what happened that night but if she tells someone she risks putting herself in danger. This book will have you on the edge of your seat and people will have a hard time pulling you away. Pair it with a cute mug and it makes for a perfect easy gift for any bookworm.

I have been subscribed to Ipsy for about 5 months now and I haven’t been disappointed yet! You do have to fill out a survey of what kind of products you like and what your skin shade is and your hair type but after that its a breeze!Unknown

5. Sporty Outfit

For all, you sporty girls out there a cute workout outfit is definitely always something that is motivating when you are trying to pull your body out of bed on the 26th of December.  I love a good outfit always but I love cute outfits especially when it comes to workout outfits. My favorite places to get inexpensive workout clothes are Marshalls and TjMaxx because sometimes you can find name brands at a discount which is always great! FullSizeRender 22(Polyvore.com: $9 each)

DIY Halloween Costumes

October 30, 2017 Leave a Comment

So with Halloween coming up this week, I thought it would be appropriate to show yall some cute Halloween costumes that are easy to make. Most of the items that I used I found in my closet because I usually am last minute when it comes to Halloween costumes.

The Cat’s Meow:  You can never go wrong with dressing like a kitty. This costume was so fun to create and super easy! If you want something cute yet classy then this is the purrrrrfect costume for you! All you need to make this is a Black fur vest (the one I am wearing is from Ross and is a medium), a grey or black or even white long sleeve shirt (the shirt I am wearing is from Francesca’s and it is a medium and has fun detailing at the neck), and some black or grey skinny jeans (mine are from Gap in a size 27), and last but not least some heals either black boots or nude heels (mine are from Lulu’s in a size 7 1/2). To finish off your look draw a nose and whiskers, I used black eyeliner because it works great and put your hair up in two buns so it looks like cat ears and then you’re finished!

Peace Homie:

This next outfit was an easy last minute costume because I just grabbed everything out of my closet that screamed hippie. You can use any shirt that has a flower pattern, I chose this one because the arms flared out and it gave that hippie look. I have been obsessed with flare jeans (mine are from Gap in size 27) and with high heeled boots (mine are from Charlotte Russe in size 7 1/2 I’m not sure they still sell these though) are a perfect way to finish off the outfit. For my hair, I just tied a headband around my hair and finished the look.

Out Of This World:

Metallics are everywhere right now so It’s not hard to find pieces to make a cute alien outfit. This silver dress is so cute and is perfect for an alien look. Since its usually cold during October, I paired it with a gold jacket just to give the outfit a little more of a pop! To finish the look pair it with silver booties and some antennas and then you’re done!

How To Do Homecoming on a Budget

October 8, 2017 Leave a Comment

Homecoming is something I have always looked forward to since I started high school freshman year. I love the fancy dresses, dancing, and just having fun with friends. Sadly now of days between the dress, dinner, flowers, and mums and garters, homecoming has become a very costly event. I myself go to a school where homecoming isn’t just a casual Sunday dress event. Ours is formal and most of the time girls wear gowns because its easier to follow the rules if you wear a long dress. I struggle sometimes with the prices of dresses because I have so many dances in one year that I don’t want to put down$100 on a dress every few months, it starts to add up at the end of the school year. So how do you shop for a homecoming dress that is tasteful yet inexpensive? Luckily I’ve had some luck of finding some that are not as pricy put still look great, so i’ll give you some of my do’s and don’ts of homecoming shopping.

Do: I am a huge fan of shopping online before I go to the store. I love mapping out exactly what I want and then going to try it on at the store and buy it. It makes shopping a lot easier I think personally. Dillard’s is a store that always has super nice homecoming dresses, the only issue is that once you get to the store you are overwhelmed with gorgeous dresses and you grab whatever catches your eye. By the time you get to the dressing room you have about 30 dresses on 3 different hooks, and when you find that jaw dropper dress you love, you check the tag and its $165 and you back at square one without a dress and heart broken. Yes, this story is very detailed because it has happened to me a few times now and probably some of y’all too. I now go online at Dillards and I figure out what is a good price to spend on a dress and I only look at those dresses and when I get to the store I find those dresses and try them on. Now when I find a dress I won’t be disappointed because I know I can buy it. Tj Maxxx also has some formal dresses that can range from $50- $70 which is great for a dress! Nordstrom rack, promgirl.com, and Lulus are also great places to look at dresses because you can put in your price range and what style you want and it will give you pages of dresses to choose from which I love.

Don’t: Everyone knows homecoming is all about the dress, but I know so many people that spend a lot of money on a dress and then go and by $90 shoes to match it just to wear for one night, how ridiculous is that? Well luckily, Marshalls, Ross, and Tj Maxxx are great places to get shoes at a discount they have so many styles and I’ve never been disappointed in a shoe I’ve gotten from there. Also who says you have to have the blinged out shoes? Every girl takes her shoes right when she gets into the gym, so why buy shoes you’re only going to wear once? Try to pick a shoe that you could see your self wearing at a family event or a wedding or even church. You will get many more wears out of the shoes if you find one you can wear more than once.

Do: One thing that my family does as a senior privilege is that my mom will take me to get my nails and hair done for senior prom which I think is pretty special. I never get my hair or nails or even makeup done anywhere for prom. What I do is I look up easy hairstyles on Pintrerst pin after pin will be step-by-step tutorials on how to do each hairstyle and y’all would not believe how easy it is to do some of these hairstyles! Also if you have a friend thats really good at hair and makeup, invite her and a few more girls over to get ready. It will be a lot more fun and affordable and you’ll probably look back on it in a few years and remember the memories of having girl time before going to the dance.

Homecoming doesn’t have to be pricy if you follow these do’s and don’ts and the best part is that no one will know that you didn’t blow your wallet out for one night because you will be looking fabulous!

I hope y’all enjoyed! feel free to comment on my blog and tell me what y’all thought! Caio! 🙂

What Age is Appropriate to Start Wearing Makeup: A Daughters Prospective

October 6, 2017 Leave a Comment

Lately, when I scroll through my feed on multiple social medias sites, I always see young girls around the ages of 11-13 wearing full faces of makeup. It made me ponder what is the appropriate age for girls to start wearing “heavy” makeup? I personally started wearing makeup at a very young age. When I was in middle school I started to get a lot of pimples and I got insecure with how I looked, y’all can imagine the things middle school girls would say about a pimple. I remember sneaking into my moms bathroom to find her makeup bag to get something to cover the pimples up. Through out middle school, I kept using more and more makeup and by the time I was a freshman in high school I wore a full face of makeup.

Looking back on pictures I always thought, why did I try to cover up my face it wasn’t even that bad! My mom would always encourage me to tone it down on the makeup use and I would never listen. I am now currently a senior in high school and I love wearing makeup. I know what y’all are thinking, for someone who wears so much makeup and started to wear it at a young age, what possible advice could she give. Well as someone who never listened to her mom about makeup, I have some tips to give that might help.

My first tip is that if you are a young girl reading this or a mom reading for a daughter, don’t wear makeup if you don’t know how to apply it or what it is. When I started in middles school, mostly everything I used, I had no idea how to use it. If your daughter, or you as a pre-teen really want to start experimenting with makeup, ask you’re mom if she can give you a tutorial on how to use certain products. Even if she tells you how to do it, don’t wear it everyday, maybe make it a weekend or special occasion type of thing. You’re mom might even be nice enough to buy you your first mascara when she feels you’re ready.

My next tip is, if you are wearing makeup to try and cover up a blemish or a mark on your face that you don’t like, DON’T DO IT. I used to cover pimples all the time with so much makeup and it never did anything to make it go away, I actually felt like it made my blemishes more noticeable. Also if you put so much product on your blemishes then it will just clog your pores creating more and more pimples which is everyone’s least favorite thing.

My final tip is if you’re in middle school, you don’t need makeup. Yes, middle school is an awkward time when you want to be older and be more respected but makeup can won’t change you into those things. It might make you look a little older but it won’t change your age. No one needs makeup to be prettier, makeup is an enhancement of the beautiful girl you already are! Just be patient your day for makeup will come and when it does come you will understand fully what makeup is and does for the beautiful girl you already are.

*Thanks for reading! I hope y’all enjoyed! I’ll be pack Sunday with a new post and then I’ll be back on the normal posting schedule so tune in for a new post Sunday! Ciao! *

Hot or Not: Corset Top

September 11, 2017 Leave a Comment

So I’ve been seeing corset tops everywhere lately and I’ve been thinking to myself would I ever wear that? To me when I think of a corset I think of the time that I was in Savannah, Georgia and I tried on a corset. It was so tight and very uncomfortable so of course when I saw these shirts in stores I was definitely not attracted to them. I think that when most people see the corset on the shirt they instantly think that it will suck in everything they don’t want people to see. After doing some shopping I tried on a few different kinds of corset tops. I tried on a corset dress shirt, a corset sweatshirt, even a corset peplum. After experimenting with the different types of corset shirts I ruled out the corset dress shirt and corset sweatshirt. The corset dress shirt on looks like I grabbed a dress shirt from my dads closet and adding a corset to it. It was very uncomfortable and not flattering on my cerves at all so if you’re looking into to buying this kind of shirt I suggest finding a different one. The sweatshirt was just awful. When I wear a sweatshirt it’s because I’m sitting at home in leggings with a bun in my hair watching Netflix. It was very hard to move in and it just looked baggy. However after those two misses I decided to try on one more corset top. I tried on a corset peplum top at Francesca’s and it was stunning. Peplums are meant to hug the smallest part of your waist so when you add a corset to the peplum it shapes your waist super well. So is it hot or not? I’d like to say that it is hot if you find a corset top that fits your body type and is flattering on you.

Thanks for reading I hope y’all enjoy! Tune in next Sunday for a new post! Caio! 🙂

How to Make Boring Fun!

September 7, 2017 Leave a Comment

I have worn school uniforms almost my whole life and if you’re like me and you love fashion then uniforms are not your definition of stylish. Luckily, over the past few years I have come up with ways to express myself when wearing a uniform. Here are some of my tips and tricks to make wearing a uniform a little more bearable!

IMG_0058

This first combination of accessories is a wild bunch. If your school lets you wear any jacket then I suggest going all out with a jacket that expresses you. Bomber jackets are very in right now and they always have so many super cute patterns just like the one above so definitely check those out. For me I love the comfort of a tennis shoe but I hate the ugly style of them. I love stylish sneakers because they have the comfort of a tennis shoe but are still stylish. These sneakers might be on the plane side for some of y’all but I think they would go with any pattern of skirt and they match the jacket really well. Everyone is loving Kendra Scott earrings and I loved the dark gold color of these! Say goodbye to ordinary chokers, this bow choker adds a little more uniqueness to finish off your look.

IMG_0059

One of my favorite ways to spice up my uniform is with cute hairstyles. I hate collars and bending over at my desk because my long hair always gets in the way. I love this French braid pig tail look because it is totally different then your usual double French braids. You could also curl the ends of your Pig tails too. This jean patched backpack is so cute and it’s a great twist on a boring backpack. Patches are also really in right now and what I think is awesome about this backpack is that you could totally add pins on the backpack to make it a little more you. Sometimes I love a cute flat to wear to school. These yellow flats are everything and the strings allow you to tie  the flats so they don’t slip off very easily which is a great invention. I wear tie flats all the time and they are comfy and definitely stay on.

IMG_0060

I love this accessory combo so much. If you are not a fan of backpacks then no ones stopping you from carrying your books in something else! I am loving this royal blue tote that has a bunch of space for your books and homework and even personal items! It’s almost fall and scarves are a must! This blue grey scarf will add a little warmth to your uniform during your school day. Okay can we talk about these adorable canvas shoes! I know that if I was wearing these shoes everyday I would always be in such a great mood! The earrings are one of my favorite items that are hot right now. They are made of string and they are so light on your ears and I love the different colors of blues they have in one earring. Who doesn’t wear a watch to school? I know I do I’m always counting down the minutes till class is out and what better way then a cute watch! This gold chain necklace won’t be too over the top for school but it still adds sophistication to your look!

I hope y’all enjoyed these tips and use them to make your school uni more you! Accessory details below. I’ll see y’all this Sunday with a new post! Ciao! 🙂

Night Out Makeup Tutorial

August 27, 2017 Leave a Comment

Night Out Makeup Look
Night Out Makeup Look
DSC_0030

Hey guys! I am sooooo excited about this makeup look that I tried out! Its super easy and it has a lot of soft base colors with a few colors that really pop that enhance some of your best features! I have to say that if you have blue eyes this look is perfect for you but if you don’t it is still a great look! So i’ll go ahead and get started and show y’all how I created this look and how you can too. Enjoy!

Okay so first I always start with my eyes because I always put tape on the corners of my eyes to make sure I have a nice sharp line for my eyeshadow. I just use regular Scotch tape but a lot of beauty stores like Sephora and Ulta have tape specifically to put under your eyes to get a clean line. So the eye I went for was a gold and brown smokey eye that isn’t  too intense and and dramatic. I used two pallets for this look. The first pallet I used was the Naked Urban Decay pallet and I used the shades naked and bucked and blended those two colors right on the brow bone. The brush I used was a blending brush I got from Ulta. It doesn’t have a name but I have a picture of it at the end of this blog if you are wondering what it is. To get the dramatic brown smokiness in the corner of my lid that I was going for I used the Affirmation pallet by Makeup Revolution. There is no name for the shade I used but it is the 12th one in the palette and I used a Vander brush with a point to blend it into the corner of my lids. You want to blend a triangle shape into the corner of your lid. Next I went back to the Naked Urban Decay pallet and I used the shade half baked which is a bright gold color just for some extra pop to finish my eyeshadow.

After my eyes I always prime and do my foundation. My skin is very oily so I always have to prime on the tip of my nose, in between my brows on my forehead, the sides of my nose and my cheeks. My absolute favorite primer is the Maybelline Baby Skin instant pore eraser. It doesn’t make my skin too oily and it is very light weight and helps my makeup glide into my pores. My face is also very red due to my rosacea so it is very hard to find a color that matches my entire face and a full coverage foundation . To even out my skin color I do two coats of foundation in two different colors. The first coat I do is a very light coat of  Rimmel London Lasting Finish foundation in the shade soft beige #200. This shade is slightly darker than my actual skin color but it helps to even out all the colors on my face. One of my all-time favorite foundations is the Dream Liquid Mousse by Maybelline. It is super light weight and goes on really well, however it is not full coverage so I always use it  as a second coat over a darker shade to even out the colors on my face. The shade I use is Natural Ivory #30. I blend all of my foundation out with a Still Détente foundation brush that I got from Walmart and I love it because it really blends your make up really well . After foundation I conceal under my eyes with the Maybelline Me Fit foundation in the shade Fair #15. I blend my under eyes out with a regular beauty blender that you can get from any beauty store.  After that I powder under my eyes using  Maybelline Loose Powder in the shade Light #01 and the same beauty blender.

Contouring is one of my favorite things about make up. I am a huge fan of powder contour but I’ve used cream too and it works just as well so just use whatever you prefer when contouring. I used the Makeup Revolution Iconic Lights and Contour Pro palette and I used the 3rd contour shade in the bottom row and I apply this using a small spoon brush to the sides of my nose, right under my cheek bones, and my forehead as close to my hairline as I can get.  After that I blend and then apply my Hoola Benefit bronzer right over my contour just to give some extra color and definition to where I already contoured. After that I use the same loose powder that I used under my eyes and apply it all over my face. This helps with setting your make up and if you are like me and you have oily skin this will help to soak up the oil and keep your make up looking great all day.

Next I fill in my eyebrows. I will get real with y’all here when I say that eyebrows scare me. I have a fear of eyebrows because I used to do musicals when I was in middle school and they used to fill in our eyebrows super dark and big and I’ve always had a fear of them. Thankfully, I have been able to cope with my eyebrow fear a little bit and I have found ways to not make my eyebrows look so dark. for my eyebrows I use Maybelline Master Kaja cream eyeliner buuuut I use it on my eyebrows because why not! I use the shade midnight brown and I use another one of my Vendor brushes to fill in my eye brows. As you can see from the pictures I added I don’t go crazy and make them super dark and make them look super defined, I just fill in where there are patches to make my brows look like one because my eyebrows are already super dark on there own.

To finish off my face after my brows, I add blush to my cheeks. The blush I used was the Milani Powder Blush in the shade Tea Rose #08. I always smile when applying my blush and I just apply it using anoooother Vendor brush because I have a huge set and I love them. I apply the blush right on my cheeks in little circle motions. After that I highlight right above where I put my blush. I do my contour, blush, and highlighter in layers right above each other, so it goes: contour then blush and then right above the blush highlighter. The highlighter I used is the Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter in the shade Ice Kiss and you guessed it, I apply it with a Vendor fan brush. I then did my lips in a very bright red shade in my favorite lipstick by Maybelline called Vivid Matte Liquid and I just apply it all over my lips in the shade Rebel Red #35 without lining them. This lipstick brand is my favorite but I will wait for another blog post to rant about it.

After my whole face is finished I go back to finish up my eyes. I apply a very light and thin coat of eyeliner just to make my eyes and lashes a little more visible. The eyeliner I used is the Urban Decay razor sharp eyeliner in the number 3. I absolutely love this eyeliner because it is a brush on eyeliner and it goes on so smooth and so well. I just do a very small wing on the outside of my eyes just for a little bit of a dramatic touch without  looking over the top. Lastly I coat my lashes with a thin coat of Mega Plush Volum’ express by Maybelline to top off my look.

I hope y’all enjoyed this tutorial and I hope that y’all would try it out and let me know how it goes. All the pictures of everything I used are below! .My sweater is from Nordstroms in the size large and my hair is just pulled back in a half up half down bun. Tune in every Sunday for a new blog post! See y’all next week! 🙂

Francesca’s Store Review

August 21, 2017 Leave a Comment

DSC_0007  If anyone knows anything about me, they know that my favorite store is Francesca’s. I have been shopping at this boutique for about three years now and I am in love with everything they have! One of the perks of this boutique is that they get in new things all the time. One of the downfalls of this store, however, is that it seems like they have a limited supply of sizes for most of their clothes, so if you see something new that you like, you’d better try it on and get it while they still have your size. The outfit above is a Francesca’s outfit I put together from this 2017 summer season. I love the jean skirt because it has little pearls on it and that just adds a really cute and fun detail! I also love it because I am obsessed with pearls! Pearls are my go-to accessory and that why I love this skirt. One thing I do like about Francesca’s is that it is not too revealing or short all their clothes look very classy and cute without looking trashy, which is so hard to find in teen stores these days. However, this store is not just for teens; I would categorize it as “young adult,” and if you’re a mom, they always have super cute tees with relatable mom quotes on them. The shirt I paired with this skirt is one I was hesitant about getting at first but I think every girl should have a unicorn shirt because who doesn’t like sparkle?

DSC_0019Like I said earlier, this store is very classy. This outfit is also a 2017 season outfit in stores right now and it is very classy. Blazers are super “in” right now and Francesca’s has a lot of really fun and colorful blazers. I went with this gray blazer because I can pair it with any color shirt underneath. The shirt that I paired this with is one they always have in the store and it is one of my go-to shirts. I love this shirt because its a wrap-around shirt and goes with almost everything. You can pair it with shorts, jeans, a skirt, really anything you want as a bottom and it automatically dresses any outfit up.

DSC_0028  Francesca’s has clothes for any type of occasion you’re shopping for. One of my favorite go-to items when shopping there is their tees. They always have super cute tees with really unique quotes or sayings on them. I really love these shirts because you can wear them with any bottoms you want and it looks a lot nicer than a plain t-shirt and it helps that they are so soft too! If you are looking for a new store to try, I definitely suggest Francesca’s. They just got new stuff in and fall is right around the corner so go grab your fall wardrobe now!
