Go On A Walk
So, we all have seen the memes and TikTok videos of people talking about how they have been on 5 walks already today but, taking walks is actually super good for some fresh air or some change of scenery for a bit. I have actually started to dress up for my walks like putting on a cute outfit and doing my makeup and seriously, it made me feel so good. I think personally for me, when I don’t get dressed up for the day or stick to my normal routine, I catch myself reaching for snacks more.
Have An At-Home Spa Day
Now is the time to y’all to take time for yourself! I love doing at home spa days because I can get so stressed and overwhelmed and just taking time to relax and refresh, it’s a good reset for me for the next day. I usually like to run a bath and put some bubbles in it and grab a good face mask or even a DIY facemask from products I have at home. I also like to make some hot tea, this really helps me when I feel anxious and I feel like my blood pressure is high. I also like to paint my nails, just a treat my self kind of day! Linking my favorite at-home spa day products below!
Read A Book
If my parents read this blog post, they will know I have hit rock bottom by posting this because I hate reading but, when I find a good book I am hooked! For me I love realistic romantic books or just books that are realistic fiction! Once you get sucked into a book, you will not think once about the snacks in the pantry.
Make A Vision Board
With everything going on right now, what keeps me going everyday is by thinking to the future and what I want to do once this quarantine is over. A vision board is the perfect way to stay positive about what is going on. You can make a travel vision board of where you want to travel, a food vision board of what you want to learn to cook or bake, I like to do once for clothes and trends for each season. All you do is just print pictures off the internet or from magazines or really anything that inspires you and stick it to a piece of paper! Pictures below for examples.
Play Dress Up With Your Clothes
Something I love to do when I am bored is go through my closet and just put outfits together. It always amazes me how many outfits I can create with just one top or skirt. This can also segway into cleaning out your closet. When I found out I wasn’t going to be having classes at Tech and more and I went home, I purged my whole closet and room and I probably had like 10 bags of things to donate. It was a lot of work but it was 1) time consuming and 2) really nice to go through my room and clean out things I still had from 8th grade.
Life is so crazy right now but I am trying to push foward like things are normal which I am sure most of y’all are doing as well which includes looking forward to future fun events planned. Since it is prom season/wedding season I asked y’all if you would be interested in prom/event dresses and so many of y’all said yes! I was so happy because shopping for formal dresses is my favorite! There is something about dressing up that just makes me so happy!
Today I am sharing 13 dresses that I would personally wear to a wedding or prom. Heck, when I was looking for dresses, I was sad I didn’t have any formal events coming up because these finds are just too cute! I picked dresses from ASOS, Lulu’s, and Red Dress Boutique. I have ordered from all 3 sites before and I can say for the most part, their clothing runs true to size. All the dresses are different prices but I tried to keep it on the affordable side, under 100$ with a few exceptions. Pictures are shoppable so if you see a dress you like, click the picture! Happy shopping loves!
When Natalie asked me to write a guest blog on wellness, I had so many different ideas. Wellness is a quite broad topic. I figured I would start at the beginning of my journey and share some of the ways I became involved in the wellness space.
I didn’t used to be interested in fitness and wellness. I really struggled growing up. I began spirling into an eating disorder around age 10, which lasted until the end of high school. Since I didn’t feel healthy or have healthy thoughts, I really wasn’t interested in wellness practice. As I healed from my eating disorder, I went on the opposite end of the spectrum – never working out and eating pints of ice cream daily.
That began to shift my sophomore year of college. I decided I had enough of feeling bad about myself and feeling unhealthy. I started learning about nutrition – not just calories and macros, but the agricultural system and food system in the United States, as well as fair trade and the impact of food on cultures. As my thoughts around food began to change, I started opening my mind more to all that encompassed health. The summer of my sophomore year I was eating healthier, feeling better and decided to start running. Let me emphasize how much I used to despise running. Why I decided to choose that as the start of my fitness journey, I will never know. So I started running. I was interning in New York and I walked 20 minutes to the train station, ran countless stairs in subway stations, walked 20 mins home at the end of the day and then went on a run.
I’m not going to lie – I started toning up and feeling a lot better about myself. That motivated me to keep going. Once the summer ended, I decided to keep my new fitness kick up. My university gym was free to students but I bought a semester class pack so I could do barre, cycle, yoga, etc. I had never tried these classes before but I figured it was a good place to start. I fell in love. With all of them. I did barre, yoga, cycle, HITT and Zumba weekly. Eventually, I became close friends with one of the instructors and she would workout with me outside of classes. She taught me HITT, weight training and more. We even did stadium stair runs (rip my legs). She taught me so much and through her I began to understand that health isn’t just working out. She ate well, she got enough sleep, she focused on the positive, she stretched daily, etc.
I’ve now been in a consistent fitness routine for over five years. It’s changed every few months, whether that has meant a focus on weight training, BBG, running, etc. but working out is a part of my life. I typically workout about 5-7 days a week, naturally. It’s one of my passions. Slowly through the years I’ve adopted new ways of eating, picked up meditation practices, explored yoga, took up crystals, found my faith, and more. I’ve created not only a fitness routine, but an entire wellness routine. I feel healthy, happy, strong and confident. And you can too.
From my story I wanted to share the X ways I began my fitness/wellness journey.
Educate yourself on nutrition, fitness, wellness practices and more. Do not just look at one person’s Instagram and take their word for the bible. Do your own research across multiple sources to find what works for you. Health is not a one size all approach. You need to find what works for you.
It’s the hardest thing but if you want to run, download the Couch to 5K app, lace up your shoes and just go. If you want to go to the gym, just go, play around and try new things. Take a class. Throw out the junk, buy veggies. Drink water. It really is that simple.
Don’t rush into all things wellness all of a sudden. If you noticed, I stated “over the years” when I discussed my story. I didn’t start with meditation and crystals and kale and sit ups. I could barely lift 5 pounds. I hated raw veggies. It started with slowing running, then I explored more workouts and eventually started writing my own plans. It’s been a five year journey and it’s still going.
Unpopular opinion apparently, BUT you should not start out doing single leg burpees. Your first workouts should focus on mastering the basics – think squats, lunges, crunches, push ups. Once you master these movements, you can build on them. You shouldn’t dive into jump squats without knowing proper squat form. Form is key!
Full circle to my first point, but once you’ve got the basics down and an open mindset, explore a little. Try new workouts. Try new foods. Try new eating styles (intermittent fasting, vegan, etc.). Find what works for YOU! Have fun with health. That’s the only way you will stick with it.
I hope my story helps show you that it is possible to change your life around. It is possible to create happiness. It is possible to be healthy. It takes an open mind, determination and a can-do attitude but IT IS POSSIBLE.
I’m open to any and all questions on my journey, fitness tips, etc. Find me on Instagram @camiliketanktop or find me at www.camilikeatanktop.com

The Houston Rodeo is here and I am so excited! It is always something I look forward to over spring break and I thought it would be fun to style some outfits for y’all. These outfits don’t have to just be for rodeo and many of the pieces can be worn this spring and summer too!
This kimono look is my favorite and I love how you can wear it after rodeo for spring too! The kimono is super light weight and a really good length. It’s an Amazon find so it is super affordable too! Paired this kimono with my American Eagle Cami and denim shorts.
I will definitely be wearing this outfit to rodeo this year and I am loving it! I will say, this top is on the pricier side but I do think it is a good investment and I will be wearing this cutie top all spring and summer long!
I’m sure you have seen me in this top a few times already and thats because I am obsessed and I love it! It looks so cute with boots and is super comfy and stretchy for when you eat all the good carnival food!!
Pink gingham is my absolute favorite! This little babydoll dress is so stunning and I can’t wait to style it so many ways! Gingham is always cute for rodeo and this little dress would be perfect plus its affordable and super comfy!
Is there ever a time when a white eyelet dress isn’t cute with boots? I love this dress and I love how it looks for spring! I will say that it does run small so size up one size!
This two piece gingham set is my favorite and like I said gingham is always a good idea for rodeo. This set is also great for spring as well. It is super comfy and would be cute with a jean jacket as well.

Okay so for todays Body Positive post, I honestly couldn’t think about what to write about and I realized that quotes can be a really powerful thing for me when I feel like I am not good enough or don’t look the right way. I thought that these quotes might help some of y’all too and help you realize that today you look beautiful and you are enough and what others think, doesn’t matter! Sharing my favorite quotes below!!
Happy Sunday ladies! I don’t know why I have been obsessed with sandals latley, maybe its because I have been craving warm weather and beach days, but I just have been loving them! I wear sandals pretty much all spring and summer long so finding the most comfortable pair of sandals is super important! I usually have to buy new sandals each summer because I wear the heck out of mine but I don’t mind. Today I am sharing my must have sandals for spring and summer. Some of them I have and some of them I will buy and some I just love them!
Linking each sandal below for y’all to shop!
Todays save vs. splurge is a swimsuit addition and I am so excited about each of these finds! The dupes are just so identical and i’ve already ordered a few! Shop away ladies!!
I meant to post this on Friday but I was taking an Instagram break so decided to post for todays Sunday blog post. Each Friday, besides today, I will gather up some items that I love that are dupes of expensive items. Today, I started out with this blue dress with a fun pattern. This pattern is EVERYWHERE right now and I looove it! I do however, like the cheaper version better just because if the sleeves and I recently ordered it and will have a review up shortly. The second thing I have linked are the infamous studded Steve Madden sandals that are all the rage already for spring and summer! I ordered those as well but when I found the Amazon pair, I was bummed that I ordered the 80$ ones instead of the 26$ ones because they are so stinkin similar!! Lastly, I found amazon dupes of Spanx leggings. Again, I have the real Spanx’s leggings and I can’t get over how similar they are! The reviews are great too and everyone says that they are so similar! Shop the looks below!
